A hamstring injury has robbed the New Zealand soccer team of captain Ryan Nelsen for the start of their World Cup qualifying campaign. It was the fifth time in 15 months that the injury has ruled Nelsen out of an All Whites campaign.
There was happier news for All Whites coach Ricki Herbert ahead of Saturday's series opener against Fiji in Albany, after striker Chris Killen scored his first goal for Celtic in a 2-1 Scottish Premier League win at Gretna yesterday. Killen will join the All Whites tomorrow.
