KEY POINTS:
Uncapped midfielder Allan Pearce has been called up to the All Whites squad to play New Caledonia in the World Cup qualifiers in September.
Pearce scored 11 goals for Waitakere in the NZFC last season.
A 24-man squad has been named, which also includes Blackburn captain Ryan Nelsen and former Fulham midfielder Simon Elliott.
Coach Ricki Herbert says Pearce deserves an opportunity. He says he was part of the squad some years back but did not play a match.
Ten players are Europe or USA based, with Wellington Phoenix players dominating the squad.
