New Zealand will once again be without first-choice captain Ryan Nelsen as they resume their bid for a place at the 2010 soccer World Cup against Vanuatu next Saturday.
Nelsen, who captains English premier league club Blackburn Rovers, is to remain in England as his wife, Monica, is due to give birth to the couple's first child any day.
Nelsen, who last played for New Zealand at the 2004 Oceania Nations Cup in Adelaide, will also miss the return leg against Vanuatu in Wellington on November 21.
Tim Brown will captain the team in the absence of Nelsen who will not be replaced.
Coach Ricki Herbert has made one change to the squad that beat Fiji 2-0 with Wellington Phoenix and New Zealand U-20 goalkeeper Jacob Spoonley replacing Wellington's James Bannatyne who is unavailable.
The All Whites are to assemble in Sydney on Tuesday for two days training before flying to Port Vila on the eve of their November 17 World Cup qualifying match which also doubles as an Oceania Cup fixture.
