The All Whites may have lost World Cup defender Tommy Smith for the friendlies against Honduras and Paraguay next month.
Smith is troubled by a back injury and a decision will be made after this weekend if he'll return to New Zealand.
It's better news up front for coach Ricki Herbert.
New Zealand Football CEO Michael Glading says striker Rory Fallon's improving quicker than expected from his hernia operation
Glading says Fallon is back running, jogging and doing some ball work and is likely to be considered for the matches.
He says ticket sales for both games are a lot slower than expected with around 10,000 sold for each match so far.
