The All Whites are eyeing up more world-class opposition with three of the world's top-10 sides in negotiations to play a game against New Zealand on August 16.
After last week's performance against Brazil, New Zealand Soccer (NZS) chief executive Graham Seatter has been inundated with enquiries for games.
The latest are understood to have come from Spain, the Czech Republic and Portugal. There are also rumours a game against two-time world champions Argentina is possible.
Spain are ranked fifth equal in the world, the Czech Republic second and Portugal seventh and all three expect to do well at the World Cup.
The All Whites are 118th in the world but will climb the rankings after a 3-1 win against Georgia and a 1-1 draw with Estonia, two higher-ranked teams.
August 16 is a Fifa international window so coach Ricki Herbert should have access to his best players, including Ryan Nelsen, Ivan Vicelich and Simon Elliott.
The All Whites are due to play Charlton on August 5 and Nelsen's Blackburn seven days later and Seatter is hopeful of adding another top club game as well as an international against the likes of Spain.
Spain are the underachievers of world football but have immense talent to call on - Raul, Xabi Alonso, Cesc Fabregas, Carles Puyol and Pepe Reina. It's understood an agent approached Seatter on behalf of the Spanish FA about an international.
Since then, Seatter has also fielded approaches from the Czech Republic, who are led by Milan Baros and Pavel Nedved, and Portugal, who boast the likes of Deco, Cristiano Ronaldo and Luis Figo.
Last week Seatter reluctantly declined a last-minute invitation to play a World Cup warm-up against Tunisia after the 4-0 loss to Brazil. Although Seatter refused to discuss countries, he did say another major international was in the pipeline.
"Everyone noticed the way we played against Brazil and it's amazing where our stocks are at the moment," he said from Germany.
"I can confirm we are looking into a major international on the back of a club game that would be worthy in its own right. To get another international on the back of the Brazil game would be a significant boost."
The All Whites begin their campaign to qualify for the 2010 World Cup in South Africa next September.
