All Whites striker Chris Wood appears set for a move to Derby County on loan.
Derby County, who play in the second-tier championship, have made a request to take the 18-year-old on loan from West Bromwich Albion and are waiting to hear back from the premiership newcomers.
The 1.9m-tall frontman has had limited opportunities at the premiership club so far this season and manager Roberto di Matteo has previously indicated he would be willing to let him go to another club on loan to give him more playing time.
Wood came on as an 82nd minute substitute in the Baggies' 0-1 loss to Liverpool in the premiership at the weekend and last week scored a goal in their 2-0 win over Leyton Orient in the League Cup.
The transfer window closes at 5am tomorrow (NZT) and all deals must be completed by then or clubs must wait until January 1 before it opens again.
Wood appeared as a substitute in all three of the All Whites' games in the World Cup finals in South Africa.
