Auckland fans will get a chance to watch the All Whites in one of their international soccer matches in October.
New Zealand Football chief executive Michael Glading confirmed the All Whites will play Honduras on October 9 at North Harbour Stadium, three days before they play Paraguay at Wellington Stadium.
Glading said it was tough to decide which city got the match against Honduras, fellow World Cup finalists this year.
"It's not often that we face the dilemma of where to host two internationals inside a four-day window and once the two fixtures were announced, we received expressions of interest in hosting the matches from a number of venues," he said.
"Logically it makes sense for the Auckland region to host the match against Honduras as the population base gives us a great chance to sell out the ground and give the All Whites a rousing welcome home.
"North Shore City have provided generous support to attract the game to the city and ARTA will provide free public transport to the ground from key routes around Auckland."
Extra seating will be provided for the match, the first played by the All Whites since they exited the World Cup in South Africa in June at the group stage.
Three draws saw them emerge as the only unbeaten team at the 32-nation global showpiece.
