The latest injury blow to the All Whites ahead of their tour of China and Thailand is the most significant yet.
Captain Winston Reid will miss the series, ruled out after aggravating a leg injury this morning playing for West Ham against Aston Villa in the English Premier League.
It comes a day after Louis Fenton and Tom Doyle pulled out of the tour with injuries.
Reid has been replaced by New Zealand under-20 representative Adam Mitchell.
