The All Whites team to face Korea tonight could feature as many as four debutants in the starting XI - one of the greenest international sides ever put out by this country.
Since coach Anthony Hudson took the reins last October he has been clear and persistent in his message; there is an urgent need to build depth in the All Whites and there has to be a focus on youth over the next 12 months, with both the 2016 Olympics in Rio and the 2018 World Cup in mind.
Whatever you may think of Hudson's approach - and his selection policies - no one can deny he has been true to his word. Ahead of one of the most challenging All Whites' friendlies in years, Hudson is about to put his faith in some untested players.
The team won't be named until just before kick-off, but judging from their formations in training over the last few days it's possible that both Clayton Lewis and Ryan De Vries could make their first international appearances.
Stefan Marinovic (SpVgg Unterhaching), also a debutant, is the likely first choice as goal keeper while Greek born defender Themistoklis Tzimopoulos is also set to win his first cap.
