All Whites striker Chris Wood has been named in the English Football League team of the season following a series of outstanding performances for his club Leeds United.
Wood's selection in the side is a result of the 24 league goals he has netted over the course of the 39 games he has played in during the 2016/17 campaign, helping Leeds in their push for promotion back into the Premier League for the first time in 13 years.
The 25-year-old's selection in the team came after he missed out on claiming the EFL Championship player of the season award.
The All Whites star was nominated alongside Newcastle's Dwight Gayle and eventual winner Anthony Knockaert of Brighton and Hove Albion, both of whom feature in the EFL team of the season.
The team is made up of players from all three EFL leagues who were deemed to have performed at the highest quality on a consistent basis throughout the season, which began back in August last year.
