An Irish comedian has created a Liverpool team chant that has gone viral since videos of him performing it surfaced online.

Richy Sheehy under the stage name Kevin Murphy says he's "Corks biggest Liverpool fan" and thinks the song will go "really really well on the Kop if everyone's singing".

To the tune of the 1969 song, 'Sugar Sugar', by The Archies, the comedian claims the song would be could to bring out when Liverpool plays Manchester City.

Since first being published the video has exploded online with football programme, 'Soccer AM' getting Sheehy to sing it live in the studio.

He reworked the lyrics of the song to incorporate Liverpool forwards Mo Salah, Sadio Mane, Roberto Firmino and even mentioned the recent sale of Philippe Coutinho.

"We've got Salah, oh Mane Mane, And Bobby Fir-mi-noooo and we've sold Coutinho," Sheehy sings.

Former Liverpool players Robbie Fowler and Jamie Carragher have also seen the funny side of the video and shared it on their tweeter feeds.

Anfield's stadium announcer and match day DJ George Sephton also confirmed to fans that he would play the tune to 'Sugar, Sugar' for them to sing along to 'Salah'.

The song is potentially the greatest fan song since Wigan fan Sean Kennedy came up with a chant they paid homage to Will Griggs in 2016.

His chant took on the 90's pop song 'Freed from Desire' by Gala and was hugely popular among Wigan fans.
