Richie McCaw won't be on the field at this year's Canterbury MPs v sports legends charity match - but he still plans to get behind it.
He has offered to pilot a private helicopter flight, which will be one of the prizes auctioned off after the rugby and netball matches on Saturday.
Current MPs, including Gerry Brownlee and Amy Adams, are set to face off against sports legends like Graham Bachop and Belinda Charteris in the matches.
The event will raise money for Hohepa Canterbury, which supports people with intellectual disabilities, and 0800 hungry, which delivers emergency food parcels to people in need.
Other players lined up for the match include David Carter, Amy Adams, Te Ururoa Flavell, Kris Faafoi, Louisa Wall, Aaron Flynn, Nanaia Mahuta, Na Katae, Marianne Delaney, Murray Davie, Alfred Ngaro, Mark Mitchell, Peeni Henare, Julie Seymour and Donna Wickins, as well as Michael Woodhouse as referee and Nuk Korako as host.
