BROWNS ISLAND
For the early riser this is a great spot. To those prepared to get up before dawn and fish the change of light, read on.
The northeastern end off Browns Island has a small lighthouse and to the south runs a very rocky kelp-infested reef structure which holds a lot of natural food.
It is also shelter and protection for the local snapper residents.
Two things will help you get results and that is a good berley and ground bait trail as well as whole fresh piper for bait.
Ideal conditions to fish the area is on an incoming tide with a north to northeast wind.
Next week's spot: Cemetery Tauranga.
