Hutt Valley fencer Monique Coleman picked up her second bronze medal of the Commonwealth championships in Chennai, India, yesterday.
Having won bronze in the individual junior women's foil, Coleman inspired her junior women's foil team including Auckland's Emily Hilton, Auckland's Sarah Qi and Christchurch's Amy Silk to beat Wales in their quarter-final.
That earned the team a semifinal against England, but a shoulder injury to Coleman early in the first bout saw them lose 19-45.
Auckland's Landon Watt agreed to borrow epee equipment to make up the required team number, and the New Zealand junior men's team were rewarded with a bronze medal.
