Despite just one New Zealand team winning over the weekend, there was still plenty of Fantasy points on offer from kiwi players.
The round started with an exciting encounter between the Hurricanes and Crusaders with the home side pulling through 29-28. Despite the defeat, and a missed dropped goal, Dan Carter led all Fantasy scorers with 27 points. Alapati Leiua, Beauden Barrett and Karl Lowe all broke the 20-point mark for the Hurricanes.
The Rebels also had the top Fantasy scorer in a losing effort with Lachlan Mitchell scoring 17 points in his side's 23-13 defeat to the Reds. Reds backrower Liam Gill continued his consistent season with 16 points.
The Cheetahs 36-19 surprise win over the Highlanders in Dunedin might see Fantasy players take notice of the South African outfit. There were plenty of points on offer with four players breaking the 30 point mark - Pieter Labuschagne (32), Sarel Pretorius (31), Johan Goosen (31) and Robert Ebersohn (30). Highlanders five-eighth, Limo Sopoaga, had a game to forget with -10 points, one of eight Highlanders to score in the negatives.
The Brumbies also cashed in from their 35-6 win over the Waratahs with Christian Lealiifano scoring 26 points, one try and five kicks.
The Chiefs and Stormers played in a high-scoring affair with the home side edging the defending champs 36-24 as Joe Pietersen scored 31 Fantasy points. Sam Cane and Charlie Ngatai both scored 22 points in a losing cause.
