Ex gives couple his blessing

The blossoming relationship between All Blacks captain Richie McCaw and new girlfriend Nicola Grigg has the blessing of her former husband.

New Zealand ice hockey captain and construction company manager Simon Glass said there were "no hard feelings" between him and his former wife.

"We still get on fine - it's not really any of my business," he said.

He learned about the new relationship with McCaw from Grigg, a journalist, he said.

The pair have reportedly been dating since April.

McCaw confirmed this week he was in the new relationship, only weeks after re-signing with New Zealand rugby for four more years.

The Herald on Sunday understands Grigg was living in Queenstown working in marketing until last summer and is now based in Christchurch after separating from Glass.

"I'm fine. I've moved on with my life," he said.

McCaw broke up with former snowboarder and TV host Hayley Holt in 2009.
