Just two rails separated the top six riders going into the final day of the 1.60m competition at the national showjumping grand prix senior horse championship in Christchurch yesterday.
But it was the in-form Simon Wilson (Waipukurau) and Right Royal, fresh from their World Cup final win in Auckland, who took the honours.
Riding first in the competition on his second horse Swinger, Wilson rode the only clear round of the two-round competition. The Wairoa combination of Molly Bennett and Kiwi Brave was right on his heels.
