Four Olympic representative riders have been named as New Zealand's showjumping team for the world equestrian games to be held in North Carolina next month.
The quartet of Bruce Goodin, Daniel Meech, Samantha McIntosh and Sharn Wordley have all competed at the highest level for New Zealand, with the first three named in the winning New Zealand team at the Jumping Nations Cup in Abu Dhabi in February.
Goodin, who has competed at four Olympics, will ride Backatorps Danny V; French-based McIntosh will ride Check In 2 at her third world games. It is the horse on which she was the top individual at the Abu Dhabi event.
"It has been a fantastic year for New Zealand showjumping and I hope we can continue our WEG campaign in similar fashion with great team work and success,'' she said.
Wordley, based in the United States, is the country's highest ranked showjumper at No 97. He will ride Casper, a consistent horse through to five star level.
