Six-time Olympian Andrew Nicholson on Muschamp Impala sits in 16th place with a total of 58.9 faults, 13.5 behind English leader Oliver Townend on Flint Curtis.
Dan Jocelyn, riding Mr Pracatan, is 18th on 59.8, while Joe Meyer on Ease on Fire edged out fellow New Zealander Annabel Wigley and her steed, Black Drum, to finish 20th on 61.1.
Wigley was in 21st place with 61.3.
