Equestrian: Matangi rider second in Canada

Katie McVean picked up a couple of good results against some of the world's best showjumpers at Spruce Meadows in Canada yesterday.

The 20-year-old from Matangi, riding Gisborne-born grey stallion Telegraph, was second in the 1.45m jump at the Continental Tournament, behind leading American Richard Spooner. The combination were eighth in an earlier 1.45m jump and ninth in the 1.4m Molson Cup.
