The top Kiwi riders are handily placed after the first day of dressage at the prestigious Badminton Horse Trials in England.
Four times champion Mark Todd is 4th riding NZB Campino with Neil Spratt 6th on Upleaden and Andrew Nicholson 7th on Quimbo.
Todd is relieved after a couple of mistakes on the cantering section of the dressage.
He says he probably lost a few points but overall he was very pleased.
Mark Todd and Andrew Nicholson both ride their second mounts tomorrow.
