Sweden-based Bruce Goodin has staked a strong claim for a spot in the New Zealand Olympic showjumping team with an outstanding result in Italy. Riding Yamato, Goodin beat 55 other starters to win the three star grand prix at the Pioltello Show just outside Milan.
Eight riders went through to the jump-off and there were two double clear rounds. Goodin was three seconds ahead of his nearest rival. The New Zealand showjumping team are due to be named in June.
