Equestrian: Beatson quinella

Dannevirke veteran Maurice Beatson snared a quinella at the Horowhenua Agricultural, Pastoral and Industrial Show yesterday. Riding Zibbibo, Beatson, of Dannevirke, notched the only clear round of the horse grand prix class to take the win, with his other horse, Jedi Warrior, the fastest of the four-faulters for second place. In the pony grand prix, Aucklander James Cole on Barrel S1 were the only combination to go double clear, giving them victory, with Logan Massie, of Dannevirke, on Kickin the Clouds in second place.
