Hoy, 49, and Dutch rider Madeleine Brugman, whom he trains, face a disciplinary tribunal in Lausanne, Switzerland, overnight to answer allegations of abusing a horse.
Brugman is accused of wearing spiked boots when riding her horse Sundancer 6 in a warmup in Portugal.
