Darts great Phil Taylor responded to his shock second-round defeat at the Professional Darts Corporation World Championship yesterday by saying he would retire in "two or three years".
Taylor, 13 times a PDC world champion and twice winner of the earlier British Darts Organisation version, was beaten four sets to one by fellow Englishman Dave Chisnall at London's Alexandra Palace.
Nicknamed "The Power", Taylor, 51, had no complaints about the result but said he had only a few more years of top-flight darts left in him.
"Dave was a better player. When he took that fourth set, it was a massive blow for me."
Taylor, who said he was hampered by an eye problem and the heat, added: "I'm going to do another two or three years and then I'm going to retire."
