Rookie Tour de France rider Hayden Roulston is happy with how he has coped over the opening nine days of the great race.
He sits 90th in the general classification heading into the first rest day, but has played a key support role for Cervelo team captains Thor Hushovdand Carlos Sastre.
Hushovd wears the sprinter's green jersey and Sastre is within striking distance of the overall lead.
Roulston is feeling good both mentally and physically.
"I mean it's such a high level here, you know, it's hard to say exactly how I'm going, or how I'm not going. But I'm pretty happy to get to the rest day without really needing it."
Italian Rinaldo Nocentini holds the leader's yellow jersey, six seconds ahead of Spaniard Alberto Contador.
