CHORGES, France (AP) A brief look at Wednesday's 17th stage of the 100th Tour de France:
Stage: An undulating 32-kilometer (20-mile) time trial from Embrun to Chorges in the French Alps, featuring two short, sharp climbs and two speedy descents.
Winner: British rider Chris Froome clinched his third stage win of the Tour the other two were in the mountains. He trailed archrival Alberto Contador for much of the way, but after a crucial bike change made up time and beat the Spaniard by 9 seconds.
Yellow Jersey: Froome. He extended his lead over Contador to 4 minutes, 34 seconds. Roman Kreuziger, Contador's Saxo-Tinkoff teammate, improved to third overall, 4:51 back.
Stat of the day: 27. The number of times the Tour has held a stage on L'Alpe d'Huez a mountain pass the peloton will climb on Thursday.
