Timaru's Shane Archbold will become just the 9th New Zealander to ride in cycling's most prestigious race.
He's been picked for his German team Bora-Argon in next month's Tour de France.
Archbold switched from track after the 2014 Commonwealth Games, but never really thought this was possible.
Archbold will be a lead out rider for the sprinters on the three week tour.
