Rotorua in mix for bike centre

Rotorua, along with Auckland and Palmerston North, is being considered by Sparc to become the national centre of excellence base for mountainbikers.

Rotorua is part of the Waikato-Bay of Plenty bid, which would see a velodrome and BMX track in Cambridge and the mountainbike component in Rotorua.

A decision will be made in May.
