The New Zealand men's pursuit team has claimed bronze at the World Track Cycling Championships in Copenhagen, beating Denmark in the ride-off for third but not before suffering a mechanical glitch.
Jesse Sergent sustained a punctured tyre with three laps to go but recovered to help get his team over the line.
Sergent says he was not sure what was going on given the crowd noise in the velodrome.
"I waited for a couple of seconds for it to actually go down and then I realised that it was my wheel and my bike went wobbly but I managed to get out of the way and yell to the other three to keep going."
Eddie Dawkins was in fifth place in the men's kilo time trial.
