Dunedin's Alison Shanks successfully defended her national women's cycling time trial title in Upper Hutt today.
Shanks clocked 37minutes 33seconds over the 25km course; second was Annelies Basten of Christchurch, 38min 13secs; third was Dale Tye 38 minutes 16 secs.
