There's no end to the frustration, it seems, for New Zealand cyclist Hayden Roulston.
Roulston has been off the bike since the end of March but is still unable to rejoin his Discovery Channel teammates out on the road, after a recent operation to remove a cyst from his backside.
He says he was initially told he would only be off his bike for six weeks, but the healing process appears to be taking longer than expected.
Roulston says he tested it out with some riding last week, but it is still not 100 per cent and it is not worth the risk of making it worse by carrying on.
Roulston says if he had known it was going to take so long to come right, he would have come back to New Zealand for a month rather than spinning his wheels in Belgium.
He is currently spending his time doing weight training and fitness work at the Discovery Team base in Belgium, and the latest prognosis is he may be able to get back on his bike in two weeks.
