Alison Shanks has fallen just three tenths of a second short of reclaiming the women's individual pursuit title.
The Commonwealth Games champion has been pipped by American Sarah Hammer in the gold medal ride at the world track cycling championships in the Netherlands.
Shanks led for the majority of the race, only losing the lead to the world record holder over the closing laps.
She says she has to be happy with how she executed the race as she gave it everything.
Alison Shanks will leave the Netherlands with two medals, having earlier won bronze as part of the team's pursuit.
