Sarah Ulmer won a stage and is the overnight leader of the Bev May Women's Cycling Tour at Morrinsville, but a nagging hamstring injury may stop her from finishing the event tomorrow.
The Olympic track record-holder dominated the morning stage, a 65km race around the hilly Quine Road circuit, but finished second in her Games event, the time trial.
Ulmer hopes to compete in the Commonwealth Gamesin Melbourne. Coach and partner Brendon Cameron explained the situation yesterday: "It's nothing serious, but it's only five weeks out from the Games and we're just being cautious. She's seeing a physio tonight and we'll make a decision about riding tomorrow," he said.
