KEY POINTS:
Sarah Ulmer continues her comeback to cycling's big time tomorrow night when she lines up in the North Shore City Grand Prix.
Ulmer spearheads what is expected to be a strong field in the elite women's race which will feature New Zealand's best who are involved in an intense two-day training camp in Auckland.
The men's elite field is headed by Peter Latham who is using the 45-minute criterium as part of his preparation for next month's world track championships in Mallorca.
In the past this madcap scurry around a closed circuit in Takapuna has been won by a number of the country's top cyclists including Julian Dean and Greg Henderson.
Latham's biggest challenge could be mounted by local riders Josh England and Mike Northey. With a first prize of $1000, it promises to be a hard-fought battle.
Chasing $5000 in prizemoney and with a further $12,000 of sponsored prizes at stake, the races are expected to attract big, highly-competitive fields who will pit their skills against each other and the tight, testing course around central Takapuna and Takapuna Beach.
Endurance and speed the prerequisites.
Racing starts at 5.30pm with Hurstmere Rd and The Strand closed from 4.30pm to 10.30pm.
