German Jan Ullrich battled through a rainstorm to win the final 30km time trial and clinch the nine-day Tour of Switzerland which ended in Bern yesterday.
The 32-year-old T-Mobile rider did consistently well in the mountain stages then rode through the rain to win the final trial stage to snatch the race from Spain's Koldo Gil.
Ullrich's win - his second in the Tour of Switzerland following his victory in 2004 - makes him favourite for the Tour de France starting in Strasbourg on July 1.
