New Zealand's Hayden Roulston has finished ninth in the opening stage of this morning's (NZT) Ster Elektrotoer road cycling race in the Netherlands.
Roulston, riding for the Cervelo TestTeam, clocked eight minutes 12 seconds for the 6.9km prologue, 12 seconds adrift of Dutchman Niki Terpstra who won the stage for his Milram team.
Fellow New Zealander Greg Henderson was 19th for his Columbia team at 17 seconds.
The race ends after five stages on Monday.
