The world's oldest bicycle track race was marred by a horror crash in Melbourne on Saturday night.
The 120th edition of the Austral Wheel Race got off to a flying start before one rider in the middle of the field clipped a wheel in front of him, bringing down the rest of the field like skittles at a bowling alley.
One cyclist did a full flip as he collided with a fallen competitor in front of him at Melbourne's Hisense Arena.
The Austral, dating back to 1887, is regarded as Australia's greatest track cycling event.
All riders appeared to survive with only bruises and ripped clothing.
