The battle for fastest time honours in the 80km handicap event seems likely to be contested by three first-year senior riders, Elliot Crowther (Morrinsville), Mike Northey (North Harbour) and Thomas Hanover of host club Counties Manukau, all of whom competed at the Junior World Championships last year.
