Kapiti's Jayne Parsons and former Olympic rower Sonia Waddell won a silver medal in the road race at the para-cycling world championships at Baie-Comeau, Canada.
They were less than a minute behind winners Bobbi Weldon and Lynne Bessette of Canada, who finished the 78km in 2h 18m 32s.
Parsons and Waddell compete on a tandem because Parsons is blind.
Earlier, Morrinsville hand-cyclist Sue Reid won a bronze medal in the 11.4km time trial.
