PureBlack Racing have made a perfect start to the Tour de Beauce cycling race in Canada.
Masterton's Scott Lyttle won the 165km first stage from Lac to Etchemin and holds the yellow jersey , king of the mountain jersey and the sprint jersey.
Teammate Tim Gudsell completed a New Zealand one-two as the duo beat out a six-strong breakaway group across the finish line.
The second stage is a 162km ride through the region of Thetford Mines.
The last New Zealander to win the Tour de Beauce, a six stage event held in the Canadian region of Quebec, was Graeme Miller in 1990.
