New Zealand track cycling records tumbled at Invercargill at the BikeNZ sprint trials. Manawatu junior cyclist Simon van Velthoven broke the national junior 1km record that had stood for 20 years.
Then teammate Elijah May, from Marlborough, recorded a phenomenal 1m 05.538s, 2s quicker than the old record.
In the flying 200m time trials, outstanding Southland junior cyclist Eddie Dawkins broke the national junior sprint record with a new time of 11.10s.
