New Zealand won two medals, a silver and a bronze, in the men's individual pursuit on the second day of the junior world track cycling championships in Belgium today.
Hawke's Bay's Westley Gough won the silver medal and Feilding's Jesse Sergent the bronze. It follows their gold medal in the teams pursuit last year when both teamed with Sam Bewley and Darren Shea to win the world championship.
New Zealand also won a silver in the men's individual pursuit (Sam Bewley) and women's points race (Rushlee Buchanan) in last year's championships in Vienna.
Malindi MacLean was 5th in the points race today.
Simon Van Velthooven was 11th in the scratch race yesterday, Malindi MacLean was eighth in the 500m time trial and Tim Bennett 10th in the points race.
