New Zealand won two more silver medals at the world junior track cycling championship in Belgium today.
The New Zealand men's pursuit team of Westley Gough (Hawke's Bay), Jesse Sergent (Feilding), Shem Roger (Cambridge and Timaru's Shane Archbold were beaten by Australia to second place.
"They clocked the best time in the heats," New Zealand cycling's high performance manager, Michael Flynn said.
"Australia had two world champions in their team."
Gough and Sergent took the silver and bronze respectively in the individual pursuit yesterday.
Rookie Lauren Ellis, of Ashburton, impressed Flynn most today.
She won the silver medal in the individual pursuit.
"She's got no experience at all, she's just a rookie but she raced fantastically," Flynn said.
"I think she has a big future."
