KEY POINTS:
The lost luggage curse has struck New Zealand's World Cup track cycling team again.
The young team has arrived in Moscow to prepare for the event starting on Friday.
Coach Terry Gyde says the bikes of Jesse Sargent and Westley Gough arrived a day late, and a collection of expensive power cranks, pumps and other spare parts are all missing.
Gyde said they came to Moscow last year and lost all 56 pieces of luggage. He says they are used to it now, but arrived early to make sure they could deal with such issues and they are working with the airlines to recover the missing gear.
The lost equipment is not affecting the basic job they are trying to do, but hurts the planned training analysis and sports science programme, the coach said.
He said while the team in Russia is being termed a "development" one, they are simply trying to compile a large group of riders capable of performing on the world stage.
