KEY POINTS:
National BMX champion Marc Willer left yesterday to prepare for an international supercross event in Spain at the end of the week.
Willers, who won the ninth round of the International Cycling Union Continental BMX series held on the North Shore over the weekend, will test himself against the best riders in the world in Madrid from April 13-14.
Following that, he will be joined by Sarah Walker, who won the elite women's class at North Harbour, to race in the first and second rounds of the European BMX championships in Belgium on April 21-22.
The victories by Willer and Walker on Saturday marked the first time that New Zealand have won both elite classes in a UCI BMX continental round.
Victoria Hill, racing in the junior elite women's category, gave New Zealand their third continental title on Saturday.
Willer and Walker also won the New Zealand national men's and women's titles on Sunday.
