KEY POINTS:
New Zealand riders won another two medals at the junior world cycling championships in South Africa yesterday.
Gemma Dudley won her second medal, adding a bronze to the silver medal she won the previous day, while the men's teams pursuiters also picked up a bronze in Cape Town.
New Zealand riders have now won four medals after two days of competition.
Dudley, of Levin, who won a silver medal in the scratch race, won the bronze medal in the 2000m individual pursuit behind two Australians.
She qualified third in an excellent time of 2m 32.772s, and was less than half a second behind qualifying for the gold medal ride-off.
Dudley took on France's Jolien D'Hoore in the bronze medal ride-off, leading all the way to claim the medal in 2m 34.393s, more than 1s clear.
The men's teams pursuit combination of Jason Christie, of Ashburton, Ruaraidh McLeod, of Christchurch, Aaron Gate, of Auckland, and Michael Vink, of Christchurch, were third fastest in the morning qualifying run.
They clocked 4m 24.414s for the 4000m behind Australia and Russia.
New Zealand took on France in the bronze medal ride-off, edging out their strong European rivals by just 0.4 of a second in an exciting race.
Earlier, Auckland's Sam Webster finished 10th in the keirin.
"It was another excellent day for us," New Zealand team manager Craig Adair said.
"We have now equalled the medals we won in the entire championships last year. Gemma has been a real revelation in the women's races and the team pursuit produced a world-class performance."
There are another three days of track competition before the time trial and road races.
