New Zealand's former world track champion Greg Henderson has grabbed his first win of the pro cycling season in Europe.
The Beijing Olympian won a sprint victory in the Clasica Almeria, a one-day race in Spain, yesterday.
Henderson was well set up by his Columbia-Highroad team and outsprinted Rabobank's Graeme Brown with top rating Italian rider Stefano Garzelli, former winner of the Giro Italia, third at the head of the 35-strong peloton.
Henderson's team managed to claw back a breakaway with 10km to go and controlled the pace before the New Zealander hit the front in the final sprint.
The racing continues in Spain this week with the five-day Vuelta a Murcia starting on Thursday.
