KEY POINTS:
BikeNZ says it is continuing to work with funding agency Sport and Recreation New Zealand (Sparc) on its high performance structural options in the wake of Michael Flynn's resignation.
High performance director Flynn resigned last week citing personal reasons, but later indicated he was unhappy with the sport's structure at elite level.
BikeNZ's chief executive Rodger Thompson would not be drawn on reports his organisation and Sparc were trying to persuade Flynn to stay on.
"I can't comment on that, it's employment related," Thompson told NZPA today.
"But I can say that from our meeting yesterday, BikeNZ is working with the support of Sparc to look at different structural options that might deliver our high performance programme.
"It's just looking at different models that might be better alternatives. In terms of time frame, it's going to take close to a week or more."
Flynn, an Australian, is popular with cyclists and is scheduled to leave his job on December 10, although he has not written off changing his mind.
