Fierce racing was a highlight of the UCI Oceania mountainbike championships in Dunedin at the weekend.
Yesterday's final day of racing saw Palmerston North's Fiona McDermid's aggressive riding in the women's short track cross-country dominate. Six riders swapped the lead in the men's short-track race cross-country right through to the bell lap and the finish.
Rotorua's Mark Lieshman won the tactical duel by a bike-length over Mathew Waghorn of Feilding.
